On Wednesday, 26 August 2026, at around 8:40 a.m., a flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district of Nepal caused significant loss of life and property. The flood has affected the riverside areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and other districts.
Immediately following the flood, the Government has intensified rescue, search and relief operations in the affected areas. The process of collecting details of the human and physical losses caused by the flood is currently underway. Those affected by this disaster are in need to be immediately relocated to safe places. At the same time, it is equally important to ensure their long-term rehabilitation and resettlement.
For this purpose, the Government of Nepal has appealed to all to extend financial support to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, maintained at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Therefore, the Embassy sincerely requests all individuals, organizations, businesspeople, and well-wishers of Nepal to extend financial support to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund through one of the following bank accounts:

2026년 8월 26일 수요일 오전 8시 40분경, 네팔 라수와 지역의 보테코시 강이 범람하여 상당한 인명 및 재산 피해가 발생했습니다. 이번 홍수는 라수와, 누와콧, 다딩, 고르카 등 여러 지역의 강변 지역을 강타했습니다.
네팔 정부는 홍수 발생 직후 피해 지역에서 구조, 수색 및 구호 활동을 강화했습니다. 현재 홍수로 인한 인명 및 재산 피해 현황을 파악하는 작업이 진행 중입니다. 이번 재난으로 피해를 입은 사람들을 즉시 안전한 곳으로 대피시키는 것이 시급하며, 동시에 장기적인 재활 및 정착을 보장하는 것 또한 매우 중요합니다.
이를 위해 네팔 정부는 모든 국민에게 총리실 및 내각에서 운영되는 총리 재난 구호 기금과 총리 구호 기금에 대한 재정적 지원을 요청하였습니다.
